Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV)

Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) is an artist-run institution in Trondheim established in 1993. LKV contains studios for more than 40 professional visual and craft artists, as well as joint workshops for working with wood, metal, photography, graphics, ceramics and monumental works.     Sustainable Theme:
    LKV invites professional artists working with sustainable photographic processes to apply for the residency, which includes the opportunity to lead a workshop on the theme. We welcome all forms of sustainable photography, though photo-graphical techniques are of particular interest to our in-house artists

    Residency Apartment:
    A fully equipped studio apartment is provided for you during your residency period. The apartment is located in a building situated just across the courtyard from the LKV’s studio and workshops building.The apartment includes a 120 cm-wide bed, bed linen and towels, a dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, a fully equipped kitchen, and access to a common laundry room. Additional storage space can be provided if needed. Residents may host guests for NOK 50 per night. Accommodation is free for children under 2 years old.

    Residency activities:
    - Introduction meeting: Upon arrival, you will meet with LKV’s director, who will give you and the other residency artists a tour of the facilities and share practical tips for a successful stay.
    - Artist presentation: Early in your residency, you will give an informal lunchtime presentation about your artistic practice, offering local artists an opportunity to get to know you—and vice versa. The presentation will be announced on our social media channels and is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
    - Workshop: You will teach a workshop in sustainable photography practice.

  • The darkroom at LKV is located in the basement of the studio building and is available to all professional artists. It is designed for use by one artist at a time, offering a quiet and focused environment for individual work.

    The darkroom consists of two areas divided by a black curtain separating the dry and wet zones. It is equipped with enlargers for black-and-white printing, a large working sink, and drying racks, film dryer, paper dryer and various bowls, tanks and lamps. The adjoining lightroom features a high-resolution computer monitor, a large light table, laminating press and a copy stand.

    The in-house artists at LKV form a diverse community of professional visual and craft artists working across a wide range of mediums.
