Workshop at CYAN studio12. August 2026

CYAN studio presents a one evening hands-on workshop led by invited teacher Stig Marlon Weston, as part of the Nordic Analogue Network program.

This is an analog workshop giving an introduction to some of the practices that encompass sustainable photography, featuring alternative and eco-friendly development methods.

We will look at the chemical process of developing film and paper, how to substitute the chemicals with more sustainable and natural compounds and how we can experiment with using different ingredients.

Using plants and kitchen chemicals we will mix our own developers and try them out in the darkroom together.

Stig Marlon Weston is the director of CYAN studio and works as a photographer and artist himself. He has studied vocational photography in Polytechnic college in Norway and has been teaching workshops and in art schools for many years. His own artistic practice focuses on process based photography and landscape, utilizing natural developers and sustainable processes. His work has been shown in national and international exhibitions and is included in the collection of the Preus National museum of photography.
